Align counterparty identity, messaging permissions and operational scope before traffic is exchanged.
Establish the network and purpose
SWIFT’s Relationship Management Application controls messaging permissions between institutions. If your institution seeks a SWIFT RMA relationship with KLASS BANK, identify that requirement explicitly, together with the relevant BICs, intended message traffic and business purpose. Acceptance depends on confirming the applicable connectivity and bilateral approvals.
A messaging authorisation is distinct from a correspondent account, a credit decision or authority to settle funds. Those arrangements require their own documentation. SWITCH relationships follow that network’s requirements and should be identified separately. BIC means Business Identifier Code; a code alone does not demonstrate an active service or approved relationship.
Prepare the request
Identify the parties: legal name, jurisdiction, relevant network identifier and authorised business and technical contacts.
Define the traffic: intended business, message categories, sending and receiving requirements and expected activity.
Confirm prerequisites: existing bilateral agreement or proposed account arrangement, diligence workstream and operational dependencies.
Coordinate authorisation: agree permission scope and verification through authenticated institutional channels. Do not submit credentials or network secrets through the public form.
Validate and maintain: confirm readiness, test where applicable, record operational acceptance and review permissions when the relationship changes.
Permissions should match the mandate
Request only the message scope required for the agreed business. Changes in service, legal entity, identifier or operational contact should trigger a permission review. A terminated or dormant commercial relationship should not be treated as continuing simply because a technical permission remains in place.
The enquiry form records the request for staff follow-up. It does not exchange keys, send an RMA authorisation or confirm KLASS BANK’s participation in a particular network service.
