KLASS BANK / INSTITUTIONAL BANKING

Financial institutions

Build an institutional relationship around a defined mandate: payment access, settlement, trade-related activity or a strategic banking partnership.

Designed around your institution

Banks and other financial institutions can engage KLASS BANK to define the services, markets and operating arrangements their business requires. The starting point is the underlying activity: who the customers are, where value moves, which currencies are involved and how the institutions will manage their respective responsibilities.

A useful mandate identifies both the commercial objective and the operating model. Direct customer payments, institutional treasury activity and the provision of services to another financial institution present different requirements.

Relationship models

Correspondent and intermediary relationships: explore bilateral account and payment arrangements, intermediary processing roles and the responsibilities of each institution along the payment chain.

Messaging and network authorisations: define the relevant network, permitted message scope and technical contacts. Where SWIFT RMA is requested, treat it as a specific messaging-authorisation workstream.

Corporate and transaction partnerships: discuss treasury coordination, trade-related services, financing collaboration and distribution or technology partnerships against a documented business case.

Information for the first discussion

Provide the institution’s legal name, home jurisdiction, regulator where applicable, website and authorised contact. Describe the business model, ownership overview and role your institution would perform.

Set out the requested services, currencies, countries, expected volumes and customer or counterparty profile. Identify required networks and identifiers, implementation dependencies, proposed settlement and liquidity arrangements and the operating timetable.

From enquiry to operating readiness

Initial contact is followed by institution and activity assessment, a defined diligence request, commercial documentation and implementation planning. A Wolfsberg Correspondent Banking Due Diligence Questionnaire may support a bank-to-bank review where appropriate; it does not replace assessment of the particular relationship.

An enquiry acknowledgement does not establish an active correspondent account, credit facility or network authorisation. Account details, approved scope and operating instructions are confirmed through the relationship process.
